Starting in February, we will run a cohort-based employability programme for 13 weeks per cohort, with the first 8 weeks being the core part of the programme. We will take the participants on a journey to develop their employability through a combination of one-to-one and group sessions with a focus on functional skills, digital skills, wellbeing, soft skills and more. The final week of the programme will involve an Employment Day where participants will connect with employers and secure opportunities to progress into work.
The team delivering this contract bring 85+ years’ collective experience of delivering employability services and will include employability coaches, functional skills tutors, employment engagement officers and programme administrator. As a team, we look forward to collaborating effectively in order to overcome employment barriers and achieve results for our customers.
Olaitan Ajimobi, OLightOn’s Managing Director commented: “In a competitive job marketplace where people are left behind when they don’t have the necessary skills, we are proud to support one of the most disadvantaged groups to improve their employability and maximise their chances of gaining suitable employment”
Waltham Forest District commented: “Supporting the 50+ age group is very high on our agenda as there aren’t any programmes supporting this age group in Waltham Forest. So we are excited about this programme and look forward to liaising with OLightOn to ensure our claimants receive the support they need.”
